Work Experience

Researcher at INAR, University of Helsinki

Helsinki, Finland

06/2022 - 09/2022

Retrieving cloud base updraft (CBU) velocities with the combined use of Doppler-Radar and LIDAR ceilometer measurements from Hyytiälä Forestry Field Station. Supervisors: Dr. Dmitri Moisseev & Dr. Tuomo Nieminen.

R&D Intern at Whiffle

Delft, The Netherlands

07/2021 - 09/2021

Development of an in situ stereophotogrammetry system for cloud base height (CBH) estimation with a pair of self-built sky cameras using Raspberry Pis and Python-OpenCV for image processing. The results were validated against a lidar ceilometer and achieved an accuracy of 90% for low-level cloud CBH estimations. Supervisor: Dr. Remco Verzijlbergh.

Intern at the Lunar & Planetary Institute

Virtual (COVID)

06/2020 - 08/2020

Unfortunately the onsite research experience was cancelled. However, we engaged and participated in virtual scientific and personal development seminars with interns, mentors, and accredited scientists from NASA and the LPI based in Houston, TX.

Research Assistant at ETH Zurich

Zurich, Switzerland

06/2019- 08/2019

Kickstarted a project on atmospheric biogeochemistry, relevant for cloud formation over marine regions. Overall work was carried out in a microbiology lab. Data analysis was performed in Python and MATLAB. Supervisors: Dr. Nadine Borduas-Dedekind and Dr. Jeanette Wheeler.

Intern at UNAM Cosmic Rays group

Mexico City, Mexico

06/2018- 07/2018

Data processing and identification of biases and differences in the records of two data acquisition systems of the Cosmic Ray Observatory using Python in a Linux OS. Supervisor: Dr. José Francisco Valdés Galicia.

Education

Copernicus Master in Digital Earth

Universität Salzburg & Université Bretagne Sud

09/2021 - 06/2023

Two year full-time, fully-funded Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programme in Geoinformatics specialized in Geodata Science and Artificial Intelligence in Salzburg, Austria and Vannes, France.

Earth Sciences BSc

University of Pécs (Pécsi Tudományegyetem)

08/2018 - 06/2021
